Another fantastic international thrill writer. Raymond Khoury is one of the pillars of the thriller genre. He also happens to be a very nice, approachable man. I had the opportunity to speak with him while waiting for him to present at an upcoming panel at ThrillerFest. Very relaxed. Very deep. Nice to see another handsome bald man in the writing community! 🙂

Wow! What can I say? I had the opportunity to spend 10 quality learning hours with the incomparable David Morrell. He is the creator of Rambo. He has written 28 books translated into 26 languages. He is an amazing teacher with a passion for writing. Thank you David for the MasterCraftFest class at ThrillerFest IX this year. David Morrell

ThrillerFest IX

Peppi VecchioIf memory serves, IX is the roman numeral for 9. Good for me. Nine is my favorite number.

The ThrillerFest conference this year features another amazing line-up of writers who teach and talk about the craft, the business and the pulse of the thriller/suspense writing genre. Last year I sat in on several of Steve Berry’s lectures and learned so much I could hardly contain myself. This year, I not only get to sit in on his classes, but I joined a MasterCraft session that will be taught by the incomparable David Morell (writer of the Rambo series). I sat in one of his groups last year and came out inspired. This year, I get to sit with him for a full day – with only 9 other budding writers (theme of 9?). He will line edit the beginning of my work for Genetic Impulse. So I hope to have an impressive revision posted before I return.

ThrillerFest features writers like Michael Connelly, Steve Berry, David Baldacci, Lee Child, Scott Turow….the list is daunting.

If you’ve never attended or even heard of ThrillerFest, it’s in the heart of NY and can be found here: thrillerfest.com

If you don’t know me already…my name is Peppi Vecchio and I’m the author of two thriller novels. The first one is titled Genetic Impulse. It’s a 90K word thriller and you can find an excerpt and synopsis HERE. My second book, The Carrington Event is almost complete. I will be publishing an excerpt and synopsis shortly.

Now for the fun…I’m heading to ThrillerFest soon with the agenda of meeting more agents to help get these books into print. As well, I get the opportunity to sit in classes with master thriller writers like Steve Berry, David Morrell (Rambo series…), Michael Connelly and more. If you’re going to learn to write, learn from those that do.

Check out my website. I’ll be posting more updates and excerpts.

Enjoy!

Ahhhh. All the fun of science and technology. I grew up reading many Isaac Asimov books and was astounded at how he looked at the current science and tech of the day and put them into everyday use. Plastic contact lenses first came out in the late 1940’s. When he published the famed Caves of Steel in the early 1950’s, he was writing about a society that used them quite regularly. Like we do today. It was amazing foresight.

Today, technology doesn’t creep into our lives, it jumps! So I look at a landslide of innovative breakthroughs and see how they would affect us in the near future. Not nearly as prolific as Mr. Asimov, but certainly just as fun.

My name is Peppi Vecchio. Follow me as I publish bits and pieces of my current two books, Genetic Impulse and The Carrington Event. Characters and adventure all wrapped in a neat world of rapidly changing S & T. Change is certainly on the way…
